IMO: If you haven’t heard it already, you’re probably as good with timing as I am, although I had this song in 2007. We’re a couple months into the new year, and he’s already done a ‘review’ of the track, but it’s a good tune nevertheless. I think. Oh, it’s about his predictions for the year ahead. See below for the links.

# Lil Wayne is getting more weirder this year!
# More girl on girl sex this year
# Foxy Brown is finished, she’s coming out with a sex tape
# Chris Brown and Rihanna will make it to September

# And Maino will be the next to blow!
Not to be confused with Bobby Friction from BBC Radio, this one from Def Jam UK puts out his debut single with a wonderful hip-hop instrumental graced by a few well known names.
IMO: When I first saw the pics, I thought, what the hell has happened to Bobby?!? It took a while to realise these are in fact different people. No, really, they are. Regardless, shouts to the ‘Bobby‘ one as we have a mutual friend.DJ Fricktion, aka Dope Enemy, does have the right idea though in releasing this one for free – better to be heard than to remain on the shelf and not be heard at all. One more thing, the only thing I know about Mams Taylor is that he straight sparked Jesse Metcalfe for trying it. See below for the link.
This had to be a personal favourite from yesteryear. It’s clearly a must have. I don’t know how long he’s been on the scene for, but not long enough to pimp his profile obviously. See below for the links.
IMO: Judging from the title, you can guess how the chorus will go. It’s a bashment/dance funky house refix of the popular nursery rhyme. A little known secret is that there is a dance that goes with this, and it involves touching your head, then your shoulders, then your knees, and then your toes – ingenius. The possibilities for variations are endless. I don’t know much about the crew that did this remix, but hats off to them, they pulled it off nicely. DJ’s can spin this comfortably with self-respect. Either way, it’s far more superior than ’shoulder leans’ and ’supermen’. See below for the link.
DJ Earworm released this gem of a remix featuring the top 25 Billboard Hits of 2008. The chosen instrumental was unexpected but a good choice nevertheless. Especially when you’ve got a nicely done video to go with it. And wait, there’s more. You can even download the mashup. Isn’t Mr Earworm nice? See below for the link.

IMO: Crazy Cousinz consist of producers Paleface and Flukes, who are also both cousins. Flukes has already put the work in on the grime scene and Paleface on the ‘bassline/niche’ scene, so the names should be familiar. The original song isn’t much different, and is one of those songs that you don’t mind hearing, and then it grows on you before you know it, and then you stop listening to it cos it’s aaalright, but you still end up loving it nevertheless. A picture with all of the above named couldn’t be found so here’s one of Kyla only. Well, if you had to choose… See below for the link.
IMO: So Logan basically has begun this series of mp3 sets demonstrating his access to dubplates. A DJ who is at the forefront of mainstream grime cannot be criticised for releasing free official sets to the masses. No doubt a large chunk of grime listeners tend to ‘keep it real’ and ‘hustle’ their music from rapidshare and the likes of. At least this way, Logan has given those very people the opportunity to do it with a clear conscience. As long as the series is better than that Oneaway Style album, this should be alright. There are 4 episodes so far. See below for the link.
Logan gets the big boys into the studio to quite simply tear the set down. And tear it down they do.
IMO: The thing with big mp3 files, is that alot of the time you will probably only want to hear a bit of the whole track, so finding the part you want can be annoying at times. That is the gripe that stands with them. That being said, this set featuring Kano, Ghetto and Skepta, is exceptional from start to finish, they go to town on some great beats, including ‘UFO Mode’ and ‘Don’t Phone Me’. Skepta is the stand out spitter here, although I’m sure many will beg to differ. Kano is still Kano, welcome back from ‘140 commercial street’, although with shining stars like Ghetto it is clear that he cannot retain the ‘King Of Grime’ title that easily. PS. Do you think Skepta walks off in a sulk because of the other two hogging the mic? Are those last bars meant for Skeppy? Cos that’s what it looks like. See below for the link.
Some dude called Aza T began this grime podcast series in June. (Episode 2 is currently with 2Pac & Elvis).
IMO: Guess what, this one’s been heard. And that’s because you are finally introduced to one of my ‘Top 3 Selected’ – Durrty Goodz (shouts out to all those that remember him as Doogz, you show-offs). Goodz has been on the scene from the beginning (he is also Crazy Titch’s brother, or step-brother, one of the two), but remains another of grime’s unsung heroes. The clarity of his reggae-influenced flow is second to none, his wordplay is fantastic, in fact it beggars belief why he isn’t more prominent in the industry. The last thing he released was Axiom EP, but this wasn’t enough to satisfy. Not the quality, the amount of songs that is. Doogz gets the ‘All Day Long’ seal of approval, and although this is another of those long mp3’s without tracking, it’s a good example of his skills. Oh part 1, and Logan’s on the decks. Oh part 2, if you can understand the tracklisting for the instrumentals he spits on, then good for you. I can’t. See below for the link.
IMO: Can someone please explain how some Nottingham DJ’s got Lil Wayne to spit some fresh exclusive lyrics for them? Well, that’s exactly what you’ll hear on this mix. There are some serious beats on this one, there’s even some grime. Guess what, I also found the tracklisting. Bummer note – the mix starts at 02:40, it’s a mini-interview before. See below for the link.
