Maino – 2009 Predictions

IMO: If you haven’t heard it already, you’re probably as good with timing as I am, although I had this song in 2007. We’re a couple months into the new year, and he’s already done a ‘review’ of the track, but it’s a good tune nevertheless. I think. Oh, it’s about his predictions for the year ahead. Elephant Man – Sweep Dem (2009)

Shadyville DJ’s Whoo Kid and Genie team up with the ever consistent Elephant Man on this bubbling mixture of Hip-Hop and Ragga beats. Some you may even recognise.

IMO: With so many fond memories of past gems from the Elephant Man, it’s hard to fault his vocals. This official release is in fact quite moorish, if it can be described like so. At least he hasn’t suffocated it in auto-tune or anything. Looks like a good start to the year for the ragga heavyweight. In fact, I’m listening to ‘Swagga’ right now and testing the suspension on my chair. See below for the links.

Jadakiss – Kiss My Ass (The Champ Is Here Pt.2) (2009)

The self-proclaimed ‘Top 5 Dead or Alive‘ is teams up with that ‘green guy‘ to produce another well put together hip-hop mixtape, preceding his forthcoming album release.

IMO: Okay, so Jada gets alot of underground love on the circuit. Not that I’d take anything away from him, but I don’t think he’s as amazing as he’d like to think. That doesn’t mean I don’t rate him, but Top 5? Come on now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. That being said, this official mixtape is actually fire, which makes the series more credible as the first one was good too. Question is, is that Jada cough gimmick played out?
